The Communication Systems and Networks (CSN) research group at Mid Sweden University has one open postdoc position in 5G advanced and 6G Wireless Communication Technologies. The position is intended for talented researchers with the drive to push the knowledge frontiers in the area of advanced wireless networks towards 6G, with a special emphasis on one (or more) of the following areas: machine learning-aided wireless networks, spectrum management, decentralized learning, time-sensitive networking (TSN), green (energy-efficient) communication and learning. The salary is very competitive and many of previous postdocs has secured positions in Ericsson Research or top-tier universities.
We are looking for an excellent, highly-motivated and self-going researcher with strong mathematical background (statistics, optimization, etc.). The eligible candidate is required to have a Ph.D. degree in wireless communications, signal processing, or a closely related field in Electrical and Computer Engineering is required. The ideal candidate for the position should have a solid background in two of the following areas:
- Wireless communication systems, and in particular baseband processing mechanisms;
- Estimation theory and statistical signal processing;
- AI/ML algorithms, such as multi-layer perceptrons, convolutional networks, recurrent neural networks, generative adversarial networks, etc.
- Time-sensitive networking

Working in Sweden: Sweden is a fantastic place for living and working. Swedes are friendly and speak excellent English. The quality of life is high, with a strong emphasis on outdoor activities. Healthcare is free after a small co-pay and MIUN provides additional occupational health services and subsidizes athletic costs, such as a gym membership. The parental benefits in Sweden are among the best in the world, including extensive parental leave (for both parents), paid time off to care for sick children, and affordable day-care.
